Exhibitions include one man shows at the Chapter Arts Cardiff; Smiths Gallery London and 5 Dryden Street London. Recent exhibitions include a two person show at Exposure Gallery, Swansea.
Geoff Brown is currently working on two distinct sets of paintings:
Photo realist works and paintings which combine representational elements with more painterly areas. These tend to use everyday subject matter but allow for the unexpected by often juxtaposing imagery in diverse combinations. Urban landscape and anonymous figures predominate as well as time / memory elements. There is also a strong element of using a series approach to explore and develop a fixed image.
ABSTRACT PROCESS WORKS
These works have no direct visual connections to realism and are produced with a strong element of process and colour for its own sake although as in the realist works still allowing for the unexpected or chance element to be accommodated.
